Hy Vee Tri. Sunday, June 28th.

Wonder why I'm racing Sunday? 5 years ago I was just finishing up chemo. That bump on my head is a port I had installed to monitor brain and spinal fluids.
Cancer is just a memory. I'm racing for Jackson & Libby.

Thanks Cara Hall & Eric Rowley for the Article in Juice.

Family Portrait Time!

Ok, so you knew this was coming. Baby Jacks has been waiting for almost 2 weeks to have me take his portraits, so we sat down and had some fun tonight. Mom and Purdy got in on the fun, too. Lambeau was being a poop and was being camera shy. Enjoy!

Cool things about Jacks' Birthday!

Jack's got this as his first email today from his Auntie Jill in Brooklyn. Some very cool things about his birthday!

"(your birthday on the hebrew calendar is the 15th day of the month of
sivan - the year is 5769) full moons always come during the middle of
every hebrew month because it is a lunar/solar calendar - the full
moon always falls on either the 14th or the 15th day, depending on the
month."

And here are some more cool link on the date.

Thanks Aunt Jill!

Why Jacks is Twittering

I can understand why some people would question why I made a twitter account for Jackson. People get kind of crabby about reading about people's kids and pets on Twitter. So, to curb that, anyone who wants to know what's going on with Jacks or to know when the blog is updated.

So if you are interested in that, give him a follow. If not, don't. It's that easy! :) And it keeps everyone happy.

Here's the link::

I'm here!!

To make it easier on everyone (and their inboxes) we've decided to start a blog to update everyone on Little Jacks.

Jackson John was born on Sunday, June 7th at 7:43p. He weighed 7.14 lbs and 19.5". A fun little anecdote about the delivery was right as Libby started to push there was a tornado warning for Des Moines and we all had to evacuate out of the room and move to the OR. So Libby, in her true nature, was being wheeled through the hall, moments away from giving birth, parade waving at everyone who had gathered there to evacuate. It was quite a sight to see.

Everyone was very excited once Jackson finally arrived. All the grandparents were there and great gramma Kline and Auntie Allie & Megan. Here are some photos from the first night. More to come soon!

Hope everyone gets to see Jacks soon!
